VLADIMIR-SUZDAL MUSEUM

One of Russia’s first such museums when it first opened in 1958.
The Vladimir and Suzdal sites from the 12th and 13th centuries have unique, white-stoned architectural monuments, such as the Suzdal Kremlin and the Monastery of Saint Euthymius as well as the Museum of Crystal in Gus-Khrustalny, about 60 kilometers south of Vladimir.
The museum-reserve combines a total 56 architectural monuments from the 12th to the 20th centuries, and joined in 1998 the register of Cultural Heritage Sites of the Russian Federation, while 10 of its monuments are UNESCO’s World Heritage Sites.
The museum is known for its educational programs, particularly with children, and for its innovative forms of work. It also annually holds almost 400 mass events and 20 exhibitions. A total of 45 exhibitions are open at the museum, including four exhibition halls at Gus-Khrustalny.
